The redesign of SFO Terminal 2 and 3 involved a large scale user experience that needed to be rethought to incorporate a new global expectation. With delayed flights and longer layovers, there was an opportunity exposed to make the experience of the space be more than a transitory pass through but rather a place to take a breath and have a chance to relax in a hectic travel experience. Offering new user amenities such as markets, local restaurants, relaxation and private work spaces increased the positive remarks made by travelers that had been absent from the travel experience at SFO for years.
